Day in London.

Big Ben

I had an amazing time in London on Thursday. I haven't been back for nearly a year so it was lovely to get back to one of my favourite places again. I left at 9.50 in the morning, meeting the other girls on the train as I was coming from Winchester. When we finally arrived in London we made our way to the national portrait gallery and explored the area, heading towards Covent Garden (one of my favourite places) before heading back to the national portrait gallery to meet everyone for 13:00. once we met everyone outside went in to take a look at the Tudor section of the gallery. I was having a look at the painting's when I came across a painting of Queen Mary the first. I hadn't seen this since I was 8 years old. We learned about this in primary school and I did a lot of Illustrations about them. I did one specifically about Queen Mary and I copied this painting and it got put in the school gallery which I was quite proud of. So this was a blast from the past. I continued to look around the gallery and I came across the painting of Katherine Parr. This is the painting I most connected to but I explain more about that in my next post.

Liberty Perfume room.

After the Gallery we went Shopping going first to Liberty which i absolutely loved! The whole shop was beautifully decorated. Each room was different with mosaic tiles in the centre of each floor. Art deco furniture, Murals on the ceilings with gold gilding around the the edges. It was stunning. Im a huge fan of interior design so this is something I always notice first and this was a particular delight. The product's were also beautiful and I loved their perfume department. I did pick up a Nars under eye concealer in the shade vanilla which I love. I couldn't leave without one of their beautiful purple bags!

After this we went to Illamasqua where we were offered 20% off of their products for being pro members. I love this store. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I purchased a Burgundy liquid eyeliner, a nude lipstick and an amazing lipgloss in violate. its a dark green shimmer colour. really happy with my purchases and I'm already looking at a few other lipsticks and the hydra veil.

We then went to the Mac pro store in Carnaby street. We were brought upstairs to the pro section and offered 35% off which is amazing value. The staff were really friendly and helpful here too and it was so much fun having a look through all of the different products and colours. I could have rooted around all day. I especially loved the pigments and I managed to get 2 one in blue brown and the other in rust. I also purchased a mixing medium for the pigments and a lipstick in verve.

After shopping we went to dinner, had some drinks and then went to see Wicked at the Apollo Theatre in Victoria. It was such a great show with some really good performances! The singing was amazing and the scene changes, costumes and makeup were really impressive. I loved the atmosphere  and I definitely want to make an effort to go to London and see shows and exhibitions at least once a month.
